SAQFIRE-24 is mounted once and then runs unattended for years, so the location and the power feed matter more than the speed of the job. This guide walks the whole way: from picking the room and checking GSM coverage to the first test event on the console.
You will need
Screwdriver, cable trunking, wall plugs, multimeter, SIM card with an active data plan
Important
Install with mains power off. Connect the battery last, after checking the polarity of the mains input.
- 1
Choose the location
A dry heated room that outsiders cannot reach. Check the GSM signal with a phone at the mounting point before fixing the enclosure.
- 2
Fix the enclosure
The panel mounts on a wall or DIN rail with clearance for the lid and the cable entry below.
- 3
Bring in power
Mains input runs through a dedicated breaker. Cable type and cross-section follow the site design.
- 4
Fit the SIM and antenna
Insert the SIM with power off. Keep the antenna away from metal structures and power cables.
- 5
Connect the backup battery
Connect the battery after checking the mains input. It keeps the site reachable for up to 24 hours.
- 6
First start
Apply mains power, wait for the panel to register on the network and confirm it reaches the console with a test event.
The result
The panel is mounted, powered from mains and backup, registered on the cellular network and has reached the console with a test event — the site is ready for loop wiring.
